On the one hand, travel behavior has changed significantly - especially in the 21st century. “Further and more often away” seems to be the status quo in the minds of many people. This inevitably means that we are putting an additional burden on the environment with our global travel lifestyle. Long air trips to distant countries, cruise ship trips on the high seas, weekend trips to hip metropolises - the range of temptations to travel is diverse. However, not everyone is always aware that this travel behavior emits a particularly large amount of CO2. A one-week round trip with a cruise ship alone causes (depending on the size of the ship and the number of guests, of course) between one and three tons of CO2 - per guest! This requires a clear rethink and attractive alternatives in tourism. After all, we only have one planet.
