This hotel is as amazing as I remembered it after visiting almost 20 years ago. Perfectly situated near the Piazza Novana, this hotel is luxurious while being centrally located. We felt tucked away from noise and crowd while being able to see everything on one of the best roof-top restaurants. The room was large, fitted with modern appliances and super comfortable beds and bedding. Amenities were luxurious, with Bulgari shampoos and lotions. The staff were so helpful and recommended a perfect restaurant for authentic Italian food and pizza. We wished we could have stayed much longer!

The hotel is beautifully presented with good entrance, interesting art and good dining room. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the presence of the Harpist. Reception staff were very good, particularly Angelica. Some dining room and rooftop bar staff were very good, one or two of the others would benefit from more thorough training.

Il ristorante, situato in posizione privilegiata, regala agli ospiti una vista meravigliosa sui tetti di Roma, un mosaico di cupole, logge e campanili che si stagliano nel cielo con luminosa grazia. Un panorama che da solo varrebbe la visita, ma che qui diventa il palcoscenico ideale per un’esperienza gastronomica memorabile. L’ambiente riflette un’estetica naturale e sofisticata: linee pure, arredi sobri, porcellane finemente lavorate e una mise en place che trasmette rigore ed equilibrio, senza mai risultare fredda. Il menù, costruito con sapienza e ispirazione, è un caleidoscopio di proposte vegetali e creative, tutte intrise di autenticità e misura. Ogni piatto racconta una storia, ogni descrizione solletica la curiosità e il desiderio: è davvero arduo scegliere, perché vorresti provarli tutti, affascinato da accostamenti inusuali, profumi evocativi e armonie ben calibrate. È raro trovarsi di fronte a una tale densità di prelibatezze, dove ogni voce del menù sembra chiamarti per nome. Il percorso culinario ha preso avvio con un gazpacho ghiacciato di melone, piatto tanto delicato quanto elegante, in cui la dolcezza del frutto veniva magistralmente esaltata da gocce di olio extravergine e petali essiccati. Una sinfonia rinfrescante, perfetta per aprire il pasto con leggerezza e poesia. Il piatto principale è stato una pasta al pomodoro, basilico e aglio di squisita fattura: spaghetti avvolti in una salsa profumata e vellutata, impreziositi da due raffinati contrappunti cromatici e aromatici: una crema verde al basilico fresco, brillante e fragrante, e una riduzione bianca d’aglio, emulsionata con delicatezza e sapientemente dosata. Il piatto, composto con cura quasi pittorica, si presentava come un’equilibrata sinfonia di tradizione e avanguardia. Una preparazione così intensamente saporita da costituire un autentico invito alla scarpetta, elegante trasgressione che solo i grandi piatti riescono a suscitare con naturalezza. In chiusura, la tarte tatin ha suggellato l’esperienza con calda sontuosità: la mela, perfettamente candita, abbracciava una crema alla vaniglia con venature di semi naturali, il tutto immerso in un caramello lucido e profondo. Particolarmente degna di nota la base, costituita da un biscotto di ottima fattura, fragrante e croccante, che ha donato al dessert la giusta struttura, contrapponendo una nota asciutta alla dolcezza avvolgente della frutta. Un finale che consola e sorprende. L’intero pranzo è stato scandito da un intercalare di bollicine di altissimo livello, provenienti da cantine selezionate con cura, capaci di accompagnare i sapori con brio e finezza, elevando ogni portata senza mai sovrastarla. Il servizio si è rivelato impeccabile: misurato, cortese, attento senza essere invasivo, capace di accompagnare l’esperienza con quella discreta eleganza che è cifra delle grandi maison dell’ospitalità. Conclusione: Il Bio Hotel Raphael non è soltanto un luogo dove si mangia bene: è un’esperienza di bellezza e rispetto, un crocevia fra la sostenibilità e l’alta cucina, fra la cura del dettaglio e l’amore per la tradizione. Un rifugio d’eccellenza, dove Roma si contempla con gli occhi e si assapora con il cuore.

By far the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Italy! Excellent service; special thanks to Fulvio who took care of our every need with impeccable hospitality and genuine sweetness. The room is chic yet super cozy with one of the best beds we’ e ever slept on! The location is central which makes the hotel perfect for breaks between the long walks in Rome. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you, again, Fulvio for making our stay so swift and unforgettable!

The hotel was clean, well located, and overall. However, the bed was not as comfortable as expected, and construction work inside the property started at 8 AM, making it hard to rest in the morning. Still, the staff was kind and professional, and the experience was generally good.

I only came for rooftop early evening/sunset cocktails. The local was recommended by ChatGPT. It was an excellent choice. The hotel is located in a quiet area. There was only one other table occupied at the time. I did think that the prices were higher than they needed to be and it appeared that there was barely any alcohol in my Basil Smash cocktail but I received several appetizers and the view and ambiance made up for it. Be sure to watch out for the birds conditioned to try to snatch your food. I had to protect mine closely.
